Visual field testing may be done for a number of different reasons such as, stroke, head injury, multiple sclerosis, tumors, and Glaucoma.
The visual field test evaluates the health and functioning of
your optic nerve. The testing detects both centeral and peripheral visual field loss. Patients who are Glaucoma suspects or who have Glaucoma will need this test done at least yearly to determine any occurrence of visual field loss.
